A bit of a one note wonder. Shots seem very staged for impact but not about real design. Backgrounds are dramatic but all the same scheme.
Great design work! It took me a long time to purchase this book since I'm not a fan of traditional design. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that Windsor Smith's design work, while generally traditional, has a modern element. I could actually see myself being happy living in some of these homes, even though I prefer modern design. The book itself is very well made with large clear photographs and heavy, high quality paper. I'm very pleased with this purchase.
I have such a design crush on Windsor Smith. I believe it really started when she did that gorgeous, pink, living room on the cover of House Beautiful. Then, of course there was the fantastic kitchen, with all the light, large table that you could just feel people gathered around; but, it was still equiped for a serious cook to whip up some culinary ecstasy.Her book did not disappoint me in any way. In fact, if anything it only reaffirmed my crush.I truly do enjoy seeing what Windsor Smith will be "creating" next in beautiful interiors.
