This book is a good introduction to QuickBooks Online if you know little or nothing about QBO. It rapidly falls short for those who are looking for more. For example, almost nothing is said about journal entries. The book also includes a bit too much filler in the form of quizzes on the content just read. The writing is good and I'm not sorry I purchased this book. If the author had a series of three books entitled Master QBO Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, I'd buy all three. Such a series would allow deeper coverage at the introductory, intermediate and advanced level with each book building on the others.
This is absolutely a must have for ANYONE using QBO. I have been a ProAdvisor since day one and still found the book helpful. The book was laid out perfectly from start to finish. Speaks to the reader in a plain language, not boring tech talk, not fancy ways of wording an explanation. Best of all the explanations were short and straight to the point. If you are just getting into QBO, by the end, you will feel like a pro, I would even say you could pass the ProAdvisor exam is you tried. Looking forward to the next version and don't forget Alicia also offers video versions of everything you see in the book.
Thank goodness I found this book!!! I've been using QB online for over a year, and grabbed this book as soon as I saw it was available. It's an excellent reference guide, one that I've found very useful helping keep the books of my small landscaping business. It is very user-friendly, easy to understand, and the author does a great job describing how to use and navigate the software. Many helpful screenshots are included, which really helps me. I found the quizzes helpful and was glad they were included. They convey the important points the author wants you to take away from the content, and were a good way for me to gauge how well I understood the material and remember important and relevant information.From the initial setup, through the details of running and utilizing detailed reports for analysis, this is an amazing manual for those using or learning QB Online. I highly recommend adding to your bookshelf if you use OB Online.
Yes, this book is great as long as you don't have any employee's. There is absolutely NOTHING about payroll in this book. Not what I thought I was getting after reading the other reviews that said this book has "everything" you need. Very disappointed.
5/5 stars since this book is the ONLY one on the market for Quickbooks Online. We recently signed up for QBO, but I'm old school in that I prefer to read a physical textbook versus scrolling through PDF's. Great book chock full of information.
This book is very basic and simplistic in many ways, and an advertisement for the author's products and services. It lacks information and instructions that I expected to find. I have found it quite helpful in some ways and worth the price, but disappointing. It is not a "missing manual" book and you will need to refer to other sources.
Concise and brief. The solutions and work-arounds are easy to find and follow in this book. I needed a work-around for booking deposits on contracts and found the solution clearly stated in seconds. Best bang for my dollar I've found, yet.
