It's a little difficult to find specific information related to growing roses in Florida in this book. It's arranged as more of a collection of essays on rose growing than an informational book. When you can find information, it's worthwhile (on planting, space, problems such thrips, black spot, etc.). My husband, who grew roses up north (Ohio), was disappointed with the information, as he expected it to be more specific to Florida, particularly south Florida, where we really don't have winter, but have a rainy and dry season. I would have appreciated a chapter on container growing of roses. Overall, useful book with general info on growing roses.
The format is a little all over the place but it has great information from people who know their stuff about growing roses in Florida.Just reading about what type of rootstock you should be buying will save you HUNDREDS of dollars and much grief when your roses die after several years and you don't know why. (Hint: buy roses on fortuniana rootstock).A MUST BUY for Floridians who love roses.
