This is an excellent book for a beginner in keeping fish. Very clear and simple explanations on the chemistry of the water and what is involved in setting up a fish tank and getting it to cycle before adding fish, as well as excellent advice about tank size and good recommendations for numbers and kinds of fish to keep together. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in starting an aquarium.
I was planning to build freshwater aquarium but I was feeling I need to know about it and this book solved my problem. Acrylic tanks are lighter than glass tanks. This implies if you need to move an acrylic tank for diverse reasons; it will be much less demanding to do as such once the water has been removed than it will be for its glass partner. This additionally implies an acrylic tank will be less straining on the structure that is supporting it than a glass tank will.
If you are inexperienced with aquariums, you must purchase this book before you do anything! It will answer all of the questions you have in the first year of becomming addicted to the fishkeeping hobby, should that be your destiny. Aquarium stores should keep this book in stock and offer it as a package deal with new set-ups. I highly recommend this book to the beginner and anyone else. You can never have enough fish information and this book is a pleasure to read.

Grabbed this book for my sister-in-law who decided to pet a turtle and a gold fish. I noticed she's been having a hard time especially because her turtle poops a lot so I grabbed this book to help her out. Luckily got a decent and helpful book. She said the instructions were clear and easy to follow and the tips worked a lot. After a few days, I noticed she's been less stressed out about her aquarium. Two thumbs up for that.
