Arrived in mostly good condition. There was some slight wear around the edges, but nothing serious.The book itself is decent. I'm learning to use SAS in grad school and this was one of the required texts. Not the best book I've had, but definitely not the worst.
Good explanations of the nodes, with examples. This got me through a class project using SAS after getting very little instruction in school. A life saver for me, and I learned a lot too that I would not have gotten out of my class otherwise. The SAS website has tutorials and some videos that help as well, for those who find themselves in the same boat. The author explains some of the settings for nodes, too, so you're not guessing at it, which helped with cluster analysis. Helpful if you need to crunch data but don't have a Phd in math.
I have read a number of books SAS Enterprise Miner book but this book easily tops them all. It is extremely well organized and thorough. Each section (sub section and even sub-sub section) has detailed 'how to' instructions so that the reader can practice with downloaded datasets. The author does a great job explaining the ideas behind the software and its capabilities. He also does a fabulous job explaining the math and theory behind techniques.
The book is what I expected, well written not only the mathematical background but also the step by step of doing on SAS Enterprise Miner. This was my eighth book about SAS and I really liked it. The only part I didn't like was in some pages the printed is not good. I really recommend this book!
It is a software operation instructor. If you know all the concepts and only want to know which button to click to run the regression(or something like that). It is good for you but for those who need some explanation, it is not very useful
My copy of this text was missing 164 pages. It looked fine when I received it and began using it for class. Then we got to Chapter 3 this week and it cuts off the end and the next page is Chapter 5. This is added unnecessary stress when I am trying to complete an assignment.
Excellent book. One of the best technical books. A lot of info provided. The examples are good and clear.Highly recommended. The only con is it covers only a few topics.
