This is a Great Book about Origami. This is a great start and guideline when it comes to origami. Lots of historical information are also included in this book. Also, lot of different examples of origami paperwork are included. What I've learned about this book, as the author also mentions, is that making Origami as one of your hobbies, requires patience.. Yes, Patience.. This hobby will make a person become patient.Truly, this art would not just be part of our hobby, but more importantly, this would also be part of our character.I highly recommend this book to everyone who wants to learn more about Origami. With that, I would give Sandra Gifford and Origami a Very High 5-Star.
I’ve always been interested with Origami but I don’t have the patience to learn this paper folding art. I am now trying again to learn and that’s why I decided to get this book. I loved how the author started with a brief history of origami in the first part of the book. And I never knew that are so many different origami technique. It must be a joy to learn all of them, but for now I would be happy to learn to fold something more than just a boat! But what I want and I think missing from this book are some pictures. I think it will be better to see the different folds that are being discussed if there are some corresponding pictures of it. It would be easier to follow if you can check how it should look so you will have something to compare to if what you’re doing is right or wrong.
"All work and No play, makes Jack a dull boy". It would be nice to pick up a recreational habit during the weekends and vacations, one of these interesting habits is paper art (Origami) It's fun and brainstorming. Though learning and been skillful might take some time But it is totally worth a shot. This book is fun as it teacher you not only How to make paper art but also the history, categories of paper art, paper folds and How to effectively use the domestic tools to create a wonder. My favorite Origami is the modern origami- the animal and flower art. It is So beautiful and can be used to decorate the home, office, shops, cars and even the entire compound. But I recommend the use of pictures, lines and graphic representation Which will make the students learning from this book happier and more zealous to learn.
I like dabbling in art every once in while, and origami is a newfound obsession. This book did well in discussing the basics, and it was interesting to learn about the background of this unique artform. I thought this was promising when I came across it, and I was really looking forward to scanning the pages for pretty illustrations of samples and finished products but there was not a single one! Bummer. Pictures would really make a difference in any how-to guide, and this could use some. I’m taking away a star because of that.

I really liked this book. I got it thinking it would be a good project book to do with my kids, now knowing much about Origami myself. I found the the project a bit too complicated for my small children, but this is not the book's fault at all, just my assumption of how easy would be folding paper. I read the book and found that the explanations were really good and the projects they have are listed from the beginner level to the more skilled. Overall I thought the book was very good and I recommend for those learning about origami.
It is indeed a very informative book about Origami. I was surprised with how the book describes the history of Origami as an art and how important it is. The instructions are clear and concise that's why it's so easy to follow. Any beginner would definitely love this book. Paper folding is such a fun activity and it can be done with kids and adult. I highly recommend this to all. This book explains in detail the various forms of origami. You'll like to learn a few and show it off your friends. I also find it relaxing and calming. It will test your patience too! Thanks so much Sandra for creating this wonderful book!
There are a few tips for overall folding that will make your experience much easier and give you something to aim for. Many times, step by step instructions of origami patterns will have you fold one corner of the paper to another, an edge to an edge, or an edge to some crease you have already made, known as a pre-crease. These types of alignments reflect the geometric perfection developed from the European style.
