As a "Home Cook" who loves to host family and friends, I found Modern Buffet Presentation to be chock full of tips on menu planning and how to maximize the flow by carefully planning your buffet station(s). There is also a wonderful assortment of recipes with clear directions and fantastic tips on advance preparation. This is a book I know I will use over and over!

Not a bad book for a fresh young culinary student learning the ropes. I have been catering for 20 years now and am always looking for new ideas and thoughts in our field. After culinary school I worked in many kitchens honing my craft to one day break out as a new chef and take the world by storm. Along the way I began catering events for friends, family, church, and soon my phone began to ring from people I never met. I never looked back and my career as a personal/catering chef was in full swing. This book would have helped me build my business many years ago, but now it is more like a look at my travels (been there, done that). For anyone just starting out I think this is a great buy, and a solid foundation to build off. I am keeping it since I am now a culinary instructor at a school and use it for one of my classes.

This book has seriously changed the way I will look at everything from creating a buffet to laying out a room for a party. I was a little nervous at first, thinking it was going to rely too heavily on items only a large restaurant or catering company would have the money for, but, happily, I was wrong. Their suggestions are backed up with lots of great pictures and, best of all, explanations on why those ideas are worth trying. I love their attention to detail in presentation, along with a strong line on food safety. You know what they say, "it's all fun and games until your salmon turns into salmonella"...well, at least I say that, ha-ha. This book would be a great go-to for anyone who plans soirees, whether it is for your business or just for your personal use. Oh, and their tips on how to plan out a space, any space, are indispensable! Love it!

I really love this book. Great ideas for giving parties for large groups. I am not a caterer but use this for home parties over and over again. I did have one question. There are suggestions for preparations of different parties and selections, one was a sandwich and soup station. When I looked for one of the suggested recipes, "Mexican Pasta Salad with Corn and Tomatillo's", I couldn't fine the recipe anywhere. Is this my mistake or did they possibly leave it out? Anyway, great book, have used it many many times for my own personal events. Very good recipes too.

Highly recommend this book. As a person relatively new to the catering business, Modern Buffet Presentation served as a great guide for me. The recipes and visuals that go along with it are helpful, but I found the practical concerns of buffet presenation that were addressed to be particularly useful. If you're in the catering business, Modern Buffet Presentation is more than worth it.

I received this as a gift and love it. As someone beginning to cater, this book was a welcome addition to my collection. The Clynes have thoughtfully provided advice and guidance on successfully running a catering operation and I appreciate their tips, especially about food presentation and working with clients. I highly recommend it.

Easy to follow with great ideas on presentations. The recipes are also written so that you don't have to be a professional to get the same or similar results.
