This book gives a very nice introduction to strategy development in NinjaTrader. I'm a relatively experienced .NET developer and I was able to get started creating stock trading strategies really easily by following along with the examples.I especially like the strategy optimization and database connectivity chapters, I can see a lot of potential uses there. If you're not already a .NET developer, I'd say this book would be a bit of a struggle since it does assume you know a lot of C# syntax, but that is pointed out in the prereqs.Overall, it's a very good intro into NinjaScript development and historical strategy testing.
The author gives an overview of some of the main things you can do with a trading system developed for the NinjaTrader platform, coding a trading system, backtest and optimization. The book, also for the low cost, can be a good start for a trader who is making the first steps in the world of trading and, of course, already knows C#. Perhaps the book would have been a little more complete at introductory level, if the classes and methods of object-oriented programming were framed in a logic of trading, if Indicators were mentioned, and how to debug a strategy or indicator with the "Market Reply".Interesting and useful how doing debugging with Visual Studio and how to connect NinjaTrader to SQL Express, obviously the author is an excellent programmer in C#.
This will give you the basics to get started. For experienced .net developers who prefer developing and exporting functionality to visual studio your probably wasting your time with this book.
Book is well writen but unfortunately short. Database and attaching vs part was very good and There was a few other good tips.
