The book deals with trusses, frames, funicular structures, shells. It has no calculations, indeed it gives a clear understanding of the behavior of structures, thanks also to very very clear schematic drawings and some buildings' examples.
Excellent intro to architectural structures. Strong on principles and concepts with numerous case studies; illustrations (by the author) alone are worth the price; expensive.
This book includes examples of actual buildings, depicted in exquisite drawings, and illustrates the structural loads and forces with concise diagrams. A must for beginning architecture students.
This book is a jewel for architects and engineers. Lots of books have info but this one is just a cut above the rest in terms of explanation.
