OMG. What a beautiful book and beautiful photography. Sometimes you think you are unique but reading mr. Shapiro comments you realize that are people who think exactly like you do. Mr. Shapiro is an artist, a good one. There is not a single photografy or comment by him that i didn't like . There is also one excellent section in which he explain how explain how to "fake" objects to be mixed up with the real antiques. Excellent taste! Feel a little envy!
What can I say? It just does not get any better than this book!I own about three hundred books on interior design and landscaping, and even though this book is limited to just two houses, both owned by Mr. Shapiro, it probably will become my favorite of all.Excellent!!!! So happy it came out and even happier I bought it!!
Brilliant book about a designer and his two dream homes. For all the grandeur Richard Shapiro creates -- and he does -- love the fact that he still gets down with the workmen and does a lot of the detailing himself, especially with the paint effects. He's my new hero. Now I just need to figure out how to meet him ;-)
Just gorgeous. He seems to have an unlimited budget as well as lots of amazing ideas. Several beautiful modern sculptures are attributed to Shapiro himself. It is very, very, aggressively eclectic, which works brilliantly for me.
