I really like this book. I worked with a Chef for a while who was trained at one of the best culinary schools in San Francisco. He always told me that the key to having a great meal was in the sauce. He said if you get the sauce correct you can almost serve it on top of leather or a shoe string and people won't notice.I love this book because there is an endless supply of sauces to look over. You can't possibly get through them all in just a year, or maybe even several years. I have tried several of the recipes and have gotten lots of compliments. I help cook for larger groups at church at times and these sauces have come in handy to make a meal that seems three or four stars above the normal fare. People love them.Enjoy!
I love the large number of sauce recipes, however it took me a while before I could consistently find the recipe for which I was looking. Finally I realized that the table of contents (TOC) was displacing the recipe page by the same number of pages occupied by the TOC (43 pages). So when it says (for example) the recipe is on page 22, it is, in fact on page 22 OF THE RECIPES but you need to add the 43 pages occupied by the TOC and go to page 65 to find the corresponding recipe.
Solid recipes and tons of them but the formatting of this book is discouraging not to mention just plain bad.If you have the patience you'll find great recipes but me, I don't want to spend the time it would take to make a quick sauce to find a recipe5 stars for the recipes 1 star for the book itself
