I liked plenty of the recipes in this book, and none of them were too complicate. They didn't call for super-fancy ingredients, and made use of many convenience ingredients (like canned stewed tomatoes and italian seasoning spice mix). However, many of them required pre-cooking portions of the recipe before adding the ingredients to the slow cooker, the last-minute preparation of pasta or ingredients in the last half hour or less of cooking, or required only 4 hours of cooking time. This is ok, but hard to incorporate into your day if you're one of those devoted 9-5er crock pot cooks. Some of these are just weekend recipes, I guess, or more easily accomplished by the cook who is at home part or most of the day.
That said half of it. Also, recipes are great. Passed on some to friends who enjoyed eating the finished products. Please keep them coming!

Easy to follow; unusual and inexpensive ideas for throw down healthy meals. Put it together & walk away like all crock pot recipes .. But with an Italian twist!
I was amazed at the recipes that one can make in a slow cooker using this collection. I have used crockpots for years...different sizes, different shapes, but never crossed thel line of traditional crockpot recipes (soups, stews, etc). My husband is of part Italian heritage, so we do eat quite a bit of that type of food. I chose to make the lasagna....easy & delicious. Very moist, not dried out like happens with oven recipes. And easy cleanup, too. Would highly recommend this book! Enjoy!
Was not impressed at first. I am a pretty good cook on my own, of French and Italian dishes, among others. But when a book is free, why not take a look? If I could figure out how to actually give the book 3.5 with a finger swipe over the stars, I would. There were many dishes, particularly risotto and eggplant dishes I enjoyed.

Some of the recipes to cook in your slow cooker are very intense and would take some time to prepare, a few are easy.I think I could substitute some ingredients to make the meal more healthy but Italians don't concern themselves with that. This might be the once a month meal for us.
