I have several Lora Irish books and this one did not disappoint. She always has great close-up photos and description. Loved that she included many mediums that are often over-looked like leather, gourds, paper, etc. The pre-release price was great too.
This is a wonderful referrence book for both beginner and advanced pyrographers. I do question the burning on cloth and also question the suggestion of some of the materials she suggests burning when they are made with glues, this could be very toxic to the pyrographer. However, I found the patterns, techniques and information to be very helpful.
This book is okay. I like the Sue Walters authored books better, because she does a much better job instructing the reader how to conduct the different burning techniques. This book does have some nice patterns in it. It also has a good discussion of how to burn on leather.
Great wood burning book and not for someone that is new to wood burning. There is a lot to do out of the book for experienced wood burners.
The pyrography books by Lora Irish are the default books for all companies selling wood burning tools and materials. Lora Irish's books are always the best that can be found on burning all materials. She provides the best tutorials, patterns and guidelines. I am very satisfied with her work.
Excellent book. Ms. Irish knows how to write a book for anyone to understand and learn from. The photography is fantastic and the projects are ones you can't wait to try. I highly recommend this one!!
The book it is very good, the explanation is very clear and the photography it is very nice, and the diagrams to, but the more important, is the technical information about the equipment, and the form to keep a temperature stable, to work on different materials, from hard to soft materials. It is a nice Book
I'm a wood worker and I had a friend ask me to personalize a piece for her. Well I got the book so I could figure out what to get for the limited pyrography I intended to do. Reality is the book is fantastic and I have learned a ton. I will probably do a lot more pyrography than I first intended.
