As a result of a recent visit to the central desert of Oregon, I may very well have a place for gardening. The timeline of when we will get there will be fall so gardening probably won't happen right away. That doesn't stop my sudden need to know about such things. And so it was I had to start reading about different types of gardens.I had heard of straw bale gardening the last time I was a greenhorn, over 20 years ago. So I thought I would start with this box set. This is a great box set to get an overview. I am thinking about trying it this year.
I really found the straw bale gardening guide to be helpful. It covered everything I needed to know, and was written in a clear, easy to understand language. The book was well ordered and it had a section on organic pest control which was super handy (the reason I'm growing my own veggies is to avoid pesticides). The tips at the end, for growing each of the different types of vegetables was priceless. I highly recommend this book. Hydroponics book was also an interesting read as I don't know much about this method of gardening. It's now something I may get started on in the future.

Both are useful books if you plan on starting a garden with having a small area to utilize. Hydroponics is the most interesting to me because of the method. It is truly a space saver and it is not hard to learn after all. On the other hand Straw bale is another container type. It is a thrifty and efficient way of planting fruits and vegetables. It is nice to read these kind of books, we have a small garden at home now and maybe next summer I can try one of these options.
I’ve been planning to start small gardening in my backyard next month and I think I found the perfect guide. This book is simply amazing due to the fact it offers great insights on how to maximize your garden by planting vegies thru hydroponics. I was thinking at first of planting flowers but after reading this book, it came to me that it better to plant herbs and vegies that i might actually might use for cooking. Great tips and well-researched!
