This is a good reference, including expected plants and unexpected ones like cumin, sumac and vanilla. Totally unexpected are watercress and cacao. I've always wanted to grow watercress and this gives enough information to give it a go. Unfortunately vanilla and cacao would require a greenhouse here in central Florida. I'm grateful for information on other plants, such as Florida anise, included here for its scent. It's one of my favorite landscape plants and it's toxic! The information provided on rosemary solves a problem with some cascading foundation plantings. I now know to look for specific cultivars that grow upright. Especially helpful are the maps indicating plant range. That definitely saves me frustration with plants like turmeric.

I found most of the information to be basic, although there was some new information for me too. The layout of the book makes it handy for quick reference.

If you're into growing herbs and you live in Florida, you're good with this book! So much information!! You can't go wrong!

This book was a Christmas present for my wife. She likes it a lot. Great descriptions and photographs. 'Twas a big hit.
