I believe this is an excellent textbook. It describes with great details all the steps required to write your own multibody dynamics code (2d or 3D). All the steps are clearly described and several numerical examples are provided. I learned a lot by studying it.I strongly recommend this book together with another book from the same author: "Computer Aided Kinematics and Dynamics of Mechanical Systems: Basic Methods (Allyn and Bacon series in engineering)". In my opinion these are among the best books on multibody dynamics.
I have taught classes in dynamics at the university level. This text is disappointing. The approach and notation are confusing. The examples are weak.
