Having read books 1 and 2 i was in a hurry to read book 3. i love series! Nancy C Davis writes a good book and tells a consistently good story. i have read all the books in her "Sweet" series so i knew going in i like her style. any of the books can stand alone but i do love the chance to really get to know the characters and see them evolve and grow. whether the main characters are cats or people , they are well drawn with her pen and words.
Love the idea of a cat detective team. The cat characters are well developed and diverse. Some are a finicky as some felines, while others have the tough alley cat with a story behind them. Together these two surprise us with the mystery and how they solve it. Looking forward to more in this series.
Writing is interesting but these are very short stories, more novella than book. There is some awkwardness in the writingwhen a scene transitions; noticeable especially when story shifts from gathering clues to solution. The cat characters are great!
This is the first murder mystery book I've read in the "Cat Detective Cozy Mystery Series". It was fun and odd at the same time. I'll be checking out other books in this series.
