Nice photos of many watches, but I felt the book lacked coherency and organization. Many important brands were barely represented, such as Ulysse Nardin with 3 watches, or Zenith, with 2 watches. The section on Longines did not even mention the Ultra Chron, for many years their high beat flagship watch. On the other hand for some reason, Gruen had the most representation, with about 80, while Bulova, while represented with 15 watches, did not make it into the index.Most watches had no reference to what years they were made, and the values given, while claimed to be from auctions (what, where?), seemed arbitrary and unreliable.Overall, this book is OK as far as it goes, and it has some good photos, but is very short of useful information.

IF YOUR THE ADVANCED COLLECTOR OR JUST GETTING STARTED, THIS IS THE RIGHT BOOK FOR YOU. NICE LITTLE POCKET SIZE, JUST RIGHT WHEN AT AN AUCTION OR JUST WALKING AROUND A FLEA MARKET. NICE READ ALSO. THERE ARE MANY BOOKS ON WATCHES OUT THERE, THIS IS JUST ONE OF THEM THAT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU BUY IF YOU LOVE WATCHES AS I DO. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR COLLECTING!

I noticed a number of watch brands were missing. While the descriptions were generally satisfactory, I would have enjoyed greater and more detailed history. Still a decent resource, though.

Compared to the numerous other Warman Guides I own this is awful. It gives a simple history of the manufacturers and one or two watches and that"s it. Save your money.
