This book has some great recipes in it, and also has some good stories as a background in it as well. My girlfriend uses it quite often to touch up on the ingredients she normally misses or forgets in these recipes.
I was born and raised in the DR so finding this cookbook was wonderful. It's very basic but good if you want yo get a start in cooking Dominican food. Some of technology small typos are cute and its written in such a fashion that you feel the author is standing next to you.
I love this book because it has all the food I love to cook and eat! As a Dominican, this book revives all the food I used to eat as a kid. I recommend this book to all of you who love Dominican foood and all of you who wants to try it for the first time!

Interesting, with lots of information. Not too many recipes, though. If you are not too familiar with Dominican cooking, this would be a good addition to your cooking library.
I am revising my first review and upgrading my rating of the book. I have received an updated version of the Kindle version free of charge and all of the formatting problems I mentioned before have been fixed. I am very pleased. I am setting the new rating at 4 stars (instead of 5) only because some of the recipes require ingredients that will be hard to find but the author did not suggest alternatives. For example although fresh cilantro is in every grocery store I frequent here in Virginia, I have searched and never found fresh CULANTRO. Anyway most of the recipes still look very tasty. Who knows, I may upgrade to 5 stars after I try them with the ingredients I can obtain.
