A regionally specific guide that covers Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Parts of Canada including Ontario, New Brunswick, Novia Scotia, and Quebec are also included. A lot of specific information for each zone is included: climate zones, frost dates, and growing profiles.I like the way that this book was organized as well, the first sections had a lot of general gardening tips that are great for beginner gardeners. After that there were month-by-month to-do sections. I got a lot of information out of the January and February planning sections. Following that there are individual plant profiles with specific tips for growing and harvesting. I read through the profiles for plants that I usually grow (one of the great tips earlier in the book is to only grow what you will eat) and was glad to see a wide variety of vegetables (and fruits too!).A good, well-rounded guide for any beginner gardener or someone new to the region.This book was provided for free in return for an honest review.
Really nice book that outlines all that should be done during each month. Has lots of info and advice. Tips for planting different plants that maybe you werent aware could grow in the area. I live in Northern Maine and this has allot of info about my zone and planting berries/veggies etc.
As a gardening novice who recently moved to New England, I found this book extremely helpful. It is well written and contains lots of excellent information. I found the description of the different varieties for all kinds of crops very helpful when ordering seeds. I love the month-by-month formatting.
I am a beginner gardener. This lays things out nicely for a novice like myself. Month to month planning guide with instructions with supplemental info on all aspects of gardening, from seed to seedling to the necessary components to ensure a healthy garden. Couldn't be happier!
This was an enjoyable read. Being specific to the Northeast, this book has been very helpful when getting my garden started. The plant-specific growing strategies and growing charts are a great go-to reference guide.
I really like this book so far. It's laid out and easy to follow. I have never had a garden before of any size and this book is definitely proving useful in my planning efforts.
