Melinda Meyers is a well-known expert in the midwest, and this book doesn't disappoint. The discussion of climate, soil types, and appropriate plants for the region show that this is an author who knows her stuff. A very, very useful book for the average home gardener. The plant recommendations appear to be selected for their ease of growth and easy maintenance—an ideal approach for the novice home gardener. Although the book is mostly a plant selection guide, there's a surprising amount of practical information on planting, pest and disease control, etc. Will certainly recommend this to first-time homeowners and others who are becoming hands-on home gardeners.

Nice book easy to read and nice pictures.
