Hydrology And Floodplain Analysis (4th Edition)

This book offers a clear and up-to-date presentation of fundamental concepts and design methods required to understand hydrology and floodplain analysis. It addresses the computational emphasis of modern hydrology and provides a balanced approach to important applications in watershed analysis, floodplain computation, flood control, urban hydrology, stormwater design, and computer modeling. Chapter topics cover rainfall-runoff analysis, frequency analysis, flood routing, hydrologic simulation models and watershed analysis, urban hydrology, floodplain hydraulics, ground water hydrology, design issues and geographical information systems in hydrology, NEXRAD radar rainfall for hydrologic prediction, and floodplain management issues. For engineers and hydrologists.

Hydrology and Floodplain analysis is one of the best hydrology textbooks available. I first worked with this book in college and have been using it ever since as a practicing hydrologist and environmental engineer. The textbook is thorough and detailed with excellent examples and case studies. It has a perfect balance between theory and application. I highly recommend this book for all students interested in hydrology and water resources.

Material is very easy to read. Methods such as convolution and storage indication are simplified for easy comprehension. Examples are useful and extremely helpful.

Bbook is great. Explains all concepts of beginning and complex hydrology clearly and effectively. The book relates concepts to real world applications.

This is a good text on Hydrology, though it doesn't cover the subject as well as the newest edition does, specifically HEC-HMS.

Bought for a class, my teacher didn't really like using the book and we ended up rarely using it, mostly just for homework.
