Her father thinks Walter should understand that but Emily doesn’t want to believe that Walter could have anything but her best interests at heart. But is the big name trainer hiding a dirty secret? I'm enjoying Ms. Svendsen's Show Jumping Dreams series. While they would certainly appeal to tweens&teens, as an older woman I'm enjoying them! Maybe I'm reliving my early years of my horses&showing. I also haven't seen one faux pas of the details about horses & showing! (Sadly there are many books about horses where the author is clueless to horses and showing!) Anyone who loves horses will enjoy these books!
I read this book in one sitting and enjoyed it. The author focused some time on some of the other characters, introducing some questions for future books to delve into. The story itself was intriguing, and provides an accurate glimpse into life at one of the top shows in the county. As always, lots of great horse riding.We got to read some more about Emily's father. He's given up so much, and is trying so hard to make up for leaving Emily when she was young. But he gets more and more bad luck. He is quiet, and modest and focused, and hides what he's thinking. And mysterious, hunky Jordan is still there. The ending was surprising and a bit disconcerting. Great book. Looking forward to more.
This author writes from certain knowledge of the dynamic truth in the world of horses and all of the pleasant and truly unpleasant and often illegal aspects that surround the training and showing of horses at the upper levels of the circuit.
Another good horse jumping story with a bit of mystery involved. Emily continues to worry about her future as a catch rider, and her father's run down farm, as well as taking in consideration her friend's worries.
