Quick Bright Things Come To Confusion: The Sequel To Fortune's Fool (Fortune's Fool Book 2)

"I've always said if you can't pick a stall with one hand while eating a slice of pizza, you're not a real horse person."Simon has never shied away from hard labor. But being a working student at a German eventing barn has meant more time behind a wheelbarrow with a pitchfork than in the saddle. Simon's desperation to make it in the horse world is tempting him to leave his position altogether and ride for a trainer with questionable ethics...and a very talented horse named Milton. How much will Simon have to sacrifice to get ahead in this business and realize his dreams?

The second of the Fortune's Fool series develops the story of Simon as a person and as a horseman. The character is artistically written and lends believability to the book in a genre that tends towards unbelievability. While written for young adults, the book is thoroughly enjoyable for an adult audience. The riding sequences are well-researched and realistic. I look forward to more from Mary Pagones.

I loved "Fortune's Fool" and really hoped Mary Pagones would continue Simon's story. This book does not disappoint, Simon is such a beautifully flawed and human character and his story rings so true as a young rider trying to succeed. Please, please, please continue Simon's story... I'd love to read more!

Just not long enough, unless the author writes more? I hope so! Our rider , Simon, loves horses to the point of obsession. But he is a very young man with many talents, and is learning how to navigate life while becoming a better person. And taking the best care of his horses.

Loved the first book and was so happy their was a sequel. Great characters both people and horses. Main character makes mistakes learns from them and grows. Highly recommend.

Fun, enjoyable read. Look forward to the next book in the series to see what happens. Recommended reading for equestrian fiction lovers.
