This is a wonderful book to get if you suspect that your dog has cancer or if your dog already has beendiagnosed. Don't wait to get this book! If you dont need the information in this book, you might know someone who will, sad to day!This book has a great layout with chapters on What to do if you think your dog has cancer, Talking to your vetabout your pet, Supplements, Dog cancer treatments, and much more.
This is the kind of book I wish had been avalible when my dog got sick...She is doing much better now and this book is still very helpful and informative when it comes to diet, how to deal with your vet and other good stuff.
As with most books of this type, I want to know before spending the money why the author feels qualified to write on the subject. Without some extensive post-secondary education, I would posit that it is impossible to determine "the best food" to feed a dog with cancer, or "the best supplements" to give. There is no indication that the author is a biologist, nutritionist, veterinarian, or anyone with a medical or nutritional background at all.I have found that a lot of these books are written by someone with limited experience (maybe only had their own dog get cancer, for instance) who just writes down "what they think" after doing a bunch of internet, lay publication, or even scientific journal reading, and puts it out there as something proven or scientific, when in fact it is just unsupported opinion.I think authors giving medical advice should be held accountable for the advice. Short of that, they should be very clear as to whether they are writing from an evidence-based POV or from an opinion/supposition POV. To me, the value of the book lies in how much I can rely on the validity of the information, which depends in great part on the background of the author, and none of that is availble here.
