Second Chances (Show Jumping Dreams ~ Book 25)

Second Chance Farm has given Emily and her father a place to retreat and regroup. They have put time and effort into making it a working farm again and it is paying off. People want to come and board with them and take lessons. But money is tight and building a farm takes lots of it. Money that Emily and her father don’t have. And if they want Second Chance Farm to come together they are going to have to accept that things aren’t always going to be perfect. And Missy has relented in her bid to crush Emily and her father and given her the ride on Socks so with her team horse back on their farm, she is finally ready for the December show. It will be the first team outing and a chance for Emily to prove that she didn’t just earn her spot on the team but that she deserves it. Only a show with Jess isn’t exactly how Emily wants to spend the weekend before Christmas, even if it is a charity show. Jess isn’t too happy about it either, especially now that the two girls are neighbors. Jess doesn’t care that co-operation is what the Junior Olympic team is all about. She just wants Emily kicked off the team so that the alternate can take her place.

Still a good read. sentences seem to ramble but it is supposed to be a young girl so maybe writing in character. I went back to reread a few pages from the earlier books and it seems like they were better thought out. almost like now the books are just being chugged out once a month without the quality that the 1st 10 had. Don't get me wrong, I am waiting for each book at the beginning of the month and am still buying them. I am just hoping for some more content and better writing (more descriptive) in the future books.

An easy read with wonderful characters. A journey everyone needs to experience. Team work and seeing things at different view points. I like the way we get to hear what the characters are thinking and how they see other points of view.

One thing I like about this book (and the entire series) is that it was intended for horse lovers, but anyone with minimal experience in horse back riding can also enjoy reading it. I've read the entire "Show Jumping Dreams" series in order, and I would say that the first few books in this series were my favorite, because like the series, most of these books very quickly transition to new plots and settings. However, these books are a fair size for any middle school girl and come out about every month or two. One thing I've noted about the books changing so fast is that it is hard to become attached to most of the main characters. I'm sorry if I've been blabbing about the series and not just this book :) But, overall this was a great book and I look forward to reading the next one.

Really enjoyed this book. Love the fantasy of magic being a normal part of the fabric of our earth. Can see why they might have criminalized it! Seems it could be very dark and deadly as the tale unfolds. Well written and a page turner. Enjoyed the characters and would like to see/hear more of them. The descriptions of doing the magic are really elegant and give great mental visuals. The story line is also very unique. Never have read anything much like this book. One of the reasons I liked it so much. Makes me think of Ray Bradbury’s “Something Wicked This Way Comes”. The reader can see how Joan gets slowly sucked into what Gunn is making her do with the magic and he is a marvelous villain . Be fun to see this written where she does fall for Gunn as opposed to Alex. Although a bit dark , all in all, a delightfully well written “fairy” tale. I hope to see more in this genre from this author.

What can I say other than its awesome! This entire series is great. I only wish each book was about 100 pages longer. Lol

I love all of the books in this series and have read them all, I hope Claire keeps writing or I will be SO SO SO SAD!!! D:

I love all of Clare's books! I wait every month and love how she holds name contests and book give aways on Facebook 😁😍
