Lovely book...but, I also have the first volume, and I have to say I prefer that one because the books selected are more diverse in style. I'm certainly not sending this book back because it is still an amazing reference book. I just wish there was a little more variety in style, theme, color and content.
I appreciate the changes made from the first volume of 500 Handmade Books but I would take it even further to give more of a description of each book. I would also like more photos of each entry to give a better idea of the complete structure.
The book is a nice picture book, but that was not what I was expecting. I didn't read the specifications very well. I was looking to get a book on how to make books for my class. This is just pictures of books that people have made out of objects, no instructions on how to make them yourself.
Hello! I' m Ilustration's student, so I'd like so much books about art, draw, handmade papers and books etc.This is an incredible book: the pictures, information about it, binding, printing quality..... All book is a treasure to be in a library!Is important to my carrear (Ilustration) because I can see some ideas, for example, to my presentation work, kind of paper to be used in a proyect .and different elements to join in a proyect.
The books were not as original or inspiring as the last 500 Handmade Books Volume. And although I admire the author for wanting to get as many artists represented as possible, it felt crowded.
...as this book will attest to,but I would have preferred less than 500 booksto have more details on each book.the softCover edition is indeed wellMade.
Love bookmaking and this book is full of ideas and inspiration. A great gift for any artist in your family that would like to learn about all the different ways of bookmaking and it's practice.
