Author is someone who travels around and writes cookbooks but who has not been brought up with any understanding of the cuisine. There are better Turkish cookbooks (Ozan, Ilkin, Algar). Written for a British audience, the recipes often include ingredients or cuts of meat that are difficult to find in the US, also the cooking temperatures are sometimes in Celsius. Nice pictures, however.

I love this cookbook! The recipes are easy to follow (with "American" conversions), the ingredients are easy to find (or, the author provided substitutions), and the photography is beautiful. I made three of the meze recipes today and they all turned out beautifully. Thank you, Rebecca!
Bought this as a gift for a someone who have traveled extensively in Turkey -- so they wanted a authentic cookbook.They loved it!
Bought this as a gift for my daughter who had just visited Istanbul. The pictures are wonderful and the recipes seem to be "make-able". There is also lots of information about the city and culture related to the food. I may borrow this book from her!
Such a beautiful cookbook with gorgeous images and recipes. Note that I haven't actually made any of the recipes yet (I generally just buy cookbooks for inspiration and ideas to create my own dishes), but this one is full of beautiful things to make. A great coffee table or gift cookbook, too
