Good info in book that I did not know. Lots of hints for not over watering and making sure they dry out, meaning do not rot, but stay moist enough to make the plant happy. I truly watch and feel the leaves on my air plants because they tell you that they need water, whether misting or soaking. Used all the advice in book and applied to the dozen air plants I ordered. Very happy with info in book.
This book tackled everything you need to know about growing air plants. You will learn about the different kinds of air plants, the environment where they should be planted, the proper ways to plant and feed them, the proper gardening tools, and the proper ways to mount the air plants. A must have book for the beginners.
As a beginner in gardening, air plants was recommended to me by a friend. They are easy to grow and very hardy. So this book is heaven sent for all the tips it gave on best practices, location, what to look out for in terms of diseases... You should definitely get this book if you also want to start on your garden but don't know how to go about it!
If you like plants, this book is for you. I had heard about air plants but had never been able to acquire one. My daughter gave me one for my birthday and since then I have been buying and collecting all the air plants I could. This book teaches you everything you need to know about your crop, like watering and transplanting. A comprehensive guide about air plants.
Air Plants book is very well written. It is the ultimate guide for beginners who would like to grow plants by themselves. The book is also very well structured in a sense that it shows you every step of the way to grow a plant and the steps are very easy to follow.
Air Plants: A Beginners Guide To Understanding Air Plants, Growing Air Plants and Air Plant Care (Air Plants, Ornamental Plants, House Plants) by Louise Harvey is a great little book that gives you the basics you need to know. I don't have time to sift through a big book to find what I need and this is like a cliff notes for air plants. What kind of plants, how to care, watering, light, feeding, splitting, mounting, and diseases. I feel I can now get some and not kill them. I do not have a green thumb at all! Thanks!
Do yourself a favor and buy this book. It met and exceeded my expectations. I am new to air plants and this book walked me through everything I need to know about these plants. It is also valuable for those who are experienced with these plants and a book that neither I nor others will outgrow. So many ideas and inspiring photos and projects.
This is a book (more of a pamphlet actually) with a lot of valuable information for those new to air plants. I love that it is a simple read. However, I feel that any beginner would really benefit from more pictures to help a newbie identify which particular plant they are dealing with and how that might change approach to care. I think that that gap in knowledge is what probably contributes to so many air plant deaths just as it would with any soil- based plant. This is a good effort, it just needs tweaking.
