The African Violet continues to increase in popularity, having developed over the past 50 years from its few hundred varieties to the thousands that exist today in an ever-increasing range of color and type. This complete guide includes chapters on the plant's history, development, and classification, and a wealth of practical information and advice on propagation, general care, hybridization, and the prevention and treatment of pests and diseases. Written in a non-technical and readable style, it explodes the myth that African Violets are difficult to grow and provides the grower with the know-how to make the most of this delightful and popular plant.

This is the latest book on African Violets and it is certainly one of the most updated ones regarding techniques and products available in the market. This book shows how to propagate, cultivate/grow and show your beloved African Violets. Great ideas on type of water, soil, light, humidity to obtain great show plants. Also, it has ideas on how to prevent diseases such as cyclamen mites, crown rot, ... Great book for beginners and even for those wanting to hybridize their African Violets.

I grow hundreds of violets, I'm experienced but always searching for something new and better to learn. I find this little book very informative and well written! The types, history, hybrids (incl. the list & tips for some variants), cultivation, reproduction, tips & tricks, pests - it's all here.I guess if you ever happen to seriously grow african violets or have some of them on the window sills, this book is will tell you everything you need to know for successful keeping these pretty little plants! :)

Being an enthusiastic hobbyist, I have found this work to be most helpful. In one way or abother, this one work is able to answer the majority of my questions and has certainly enhansed my ability to enjoy by hobby. Of course one book can not do it all, but this one certainly comes very close. I collect books on the subject of African Violets and enjoy them almost as much as actually collecting, raising and enjoying the plants. This work has been a great addition to my collection and I highly recommend it.

Lots of great info on violets. Everything from regular keeping to breeding them. I have old violets (around 30 year old plants now) that I was given by my late Grandmother and I wish I had this book earlier. This book has lots of valuable advice.

I boughtthisbook and I like it. It's concise yet accessible and I enjoy the size cause I can keep it around anywhere. It's easy to read and I enjoy the illustrations. It has maybe not all but certainly most of what practical violet keeping advice you would usually need.So I gave it a five star review. It's helped me often and with good tips.

Interesting and informative and a unique lesson with ideas

Very informative. I bought this book for my husband's horticultural library. He has used it as a reference for his hobby of growing and propagating violets. Highly recommended!

Clements The Handbook To Arican Violets. This was the least informative..If I'd bought Tony Clements book first, I wouldn't have bothered purchasing any other.
