I have had previous experience with adobe photoshop (50+ hours) yet had some trouble adopting adobe flash. This book helped me out by introducing me to the basic features. It's possible that if you already have previous flash experience or have taken some flash lessons then the book could be too basic.The instructions are very clear and don't assume too much of the reader.The only criticism I could offer would be that the book does not offer an examples that really inspire you. In fact some look incredibly amateur, to the point where they look like two minute paint sketches!Good book for the novice artist that likes an instruction manual.
This book, much like the other "dummy" series books I own, is very easy to understand, and very helpful. There are links to online goodies like cheatsheets and files to use with the examples in this book too. It gets straight to the point and gives information that you need, not a lot of extra stuff that you won't ever use. Very happy with this book!
