Robert Bateman is indeed a true naturalist and truly an artist in nature. He has spent most of his life time in nature observing and sketching in order to create his master pieces. Excellent images of nature painted with such meticulous care and perfection is very well exhibited in this book. A true collection of great works of a great artist. Naturalists, nature photographers and wild lifers can't afford to miss this book.

Full of interesting background info on what made Robert the master of wildlife art that he is, wonderful images of his paintings and comments on them by the artist.
I had 2 books. I had a HUGE car wreck & spent 5 months in hospitals. When I returned home, I couldn't find my books. I actually saw the bull elephant at the Met in Manhattan before I moved in '92. I love this man's work. The gentleness in the animals' eyes & the texture of their coats, feathers, scales. Marvelous. "Thank you, Mr. Bateman! Yours is a gift worth sharing." In a word, or two: "Wow! YAY!!!"
