I have recently been trying to find great/simple recipes to cook on my propane stove while at my rustic cabin - this book sounded perfect! Well it is, if you do most of your camping on a boat or you are an avid fisher. It IS a wonderful resource for preparing for cooking on a boat or in small spaces, and has some great recipes, but if you're looking for R.V. or camping recipes - look elsewhere.
I have had this book since the 70's and was delighted to see it was still available. This is NOT just for boaters but includes sound advice for back packers, horse packers, and even those of us with trailers. My favorite section was where she tells you how to pack two styrafoam ice chests with your staples, sorted by use and layered by weight. She provides a comprehensive shopping list not only for a campout but one flexible enough to allow for bad weather/roads extending your stay or to allow for making new friends and including them in meals. Her storage ideas beat the ones in most Prepper books. For the low price of this book you will get a wealth of solid advice which has guided me for over 40 years of camping by horse and later with a camper. A true classic.
