Lots of information, easy access, about gardening and composting in Georgia. There are a few pictures which help make it a well rounded reference and how to book.
This book is so helpful. Divided into sections such as annuals, edibles, perennials, roses, lawns and so on, it gives great timing tips on when to do what in the yard and garden. Each of these sections is then divided into things to do each month. There are also lots of tips on tools, the best plants for the region, soil conditioning, and garden planning. If you're new to the area or just starting out as a gardener, this book is indispensable. It will get you in rhythm with Georgia's weather and growing cycles. Fortunately, it's written for middle Georgia Zone 8a which is my area. If you live in north or south Georgia, timing may have to be adjusted by a couple of weeks. Highly recommended! If I could only have three gardening books, this would be the one I'd choose to accompany my books by Louise Riotte.
Since I am new to Georgia (moving from a completely different climate - New Mexico!), I really wanted advice on when to plant, prune, fertilize, etc. in my yard. This book is great. Just go to the month and it will tell you everything you need to know about what you should be doing in the yard that month. Just what I was looking for (but never expected to find)!
This book gives me just exactly the information I need to feel comfortable as a gardener in Georgia after spending my first multi-years in Southern California. Thanks so much to the authors.
I bought this book for a friend who moved to GA. I looked through it and (to me) it seemed confusing as to how the chapters were laid out. I expected month by month, but instead it was many categories and each one of them was organized month by month. Over all, thought, the information was very interesting and useful.
I bought this book in CA in advance of moving to GA and am really enjoying it as I have no idea how the climate varies between the two states. It's month to month lay out is very handy.
Product was in very condition and packaged in a matter that kept it safe. This book was exactly as I expected it and I couldn't be happier with the book. However, shipping was pretty slow. I ordered three things on the same day, the other two came from different locations as well but were received in about a week. This took three weeks, a bit slow if you ask me!
