"Emergency Preparedness and Personal Survival" gives practical guidelines to prepare you for almost any emergency, both long term and short. Until I read this book, I had not given a thought that something as simple as water storage is not straight forward. Water has a shelf life and needs to be renewed and preserved like other parishable food and drink commodities. You could call this a book of lists that will help you prepare for the worst. Put aside the most important elements on these lists. If your spouse thinks this is taking measures a bit overboard, do the most modest preparations and accumulate what you all will need without fan fare. If fact, don't do any of your preparations with fan fare. We should not just hope that things will ok. We need only look back at this past year to see what weather can do to threaten your survival. Rely on yourself and give you and yours hope. Just a little preparation is better than none. Read this book. It will tell you what to keep and what to use.
