I can see why this book got a 5 star rating from so many people! I had seen these designs online but didn't fully appreciate the concept of knitting "teeny tiny" until I actually saw a copy of the book and looked through all the pages! If you can knit with double pointed needles (US 1) with fingering weight yarn, you will find these projects to be very doable. I had always wanted to learn how to knit 3-D objects that start off with a very small number of cast on stitches (4-6) and could never figure out how it was done until I saw this book! The instructions are super awesome (detailed step by step directions with large photos). That is what made me really want to buy this book as reference, however, the teeny tiny designs really started to grow on me as well and there are a few in particular that I really loved like the teeny tiny cupcake! I had purchased a toy knitting pattern where all the legs and arms are knitted in separate pieces and grafted together and thought this would be a great way to learn those techniques with only a 1 hour commitment of time so I could become familiar with the techniques before making something bigger in scale. The author says most tiny's can be made in an hour with scrap sock yarn, so that was a big appeal to me. I also loved her idea of turning these teeny tiny's into charms for your keychain, zipper pull etc. I didn't like all the designs but there were enough in there to really fall in love with the whole spirit of knitting teeny tiny, how playful these little critters are posed, having fun and getting into mischief. A bit of advice. If you don't already own sock or fingering weight yarn, you can buy "mini skeins" for $1.75 each of a very high quality fingering weight yarn called "Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light Samples" online.
