When I found, "The Art of Hungarian Cooking: Two Hundred and twenty-two Favorite Recipes," on , I decided to give it a try as I was basically unaware of the food of Hungary. The recipes are written in an easy to follow manner and those that I have tried so far were very good.I am impressed with the first part of the book because it explains a lot about Hungary's history and the influence that other cultures have had on Hungarian cuisine. There is nothing "slick" about the book; it is old-fashioned down-to-earth book where the reader knows that the author is a good cook and that you are "in her kitchen" to learn. Highly recommended.
This book has ben a bible of hungarian cooking for my not Hungarian wife. The original book, bought some 30 years ago was in complete tatters and this edition put a book back at her disposal. Like the updates in it. This is a book for anyone attempting basic Hungarian cooking. Dependable and easily follow recipes.Highly recommend.
I ALREADY OWNED THIS BOOK HOWEVER DUE TO SO MUCH USE, IT BECAME TOO FRAYED AND THE PAGES WERE HARD TO READ SO I REORDERED THIS BOOK AND OF COURSE I LOVE IT!
