I've had a copy of this book for over 20 years. George Lang did a terrific job - the book describes Hungarian culinary history, which if quiet interesting. It was influenced by an Italian princess in the 16th century, Turks, the French and Germans, being a small country in the center of Europe. I have made many meals and desserts from this book. Everything always came out perfectly, just following the recipes, from the basic every day meals, to the gastronomic ones. Mr. Lang also mentions the regional origins of the meals, and interspersed comments about his memories of meals growing up.
It's a good cookbook. We have been using it a lot. This last purchase was a gift.
