I have this book which was published in 1955. I still use it to create recipes from my childhood, the favorite being Chicken Paprika. The dishes are easy to prepare and with a little thought you can update the ingredients and not change the flavor of the food. Good memories.
authentic, vintage Hungarian cookbook.if you like cooking and eating not exactly considering calories it isa must have on your shelf. Excellent book to make you learn that Hungarian cuisine is not just about gulyas (goulash) but a whole lot more.
.Can anyone help me find the rest of this series of cookbooks? I was given this series of nationality cookbooks as a young bride , 50YRS ago ..and. after many years of use and moving . My books were lost . This book was my main sake because both my husband and I are Hungarian. It would be a very pleased surprise for both my husband and children to enjoy these reciepes again. Bought this book in the 60's,and love it, along with a Greek cookbook that looked very similar.I've lost the Greek CB and wondered if anyone knew the title or author. It had the absolutely best recipe for Dolmades.Prepared differently than any I've seen.
I've had this book for 49 years. I use it at least twice a month to cook something for my husband, Laszlo. Some recipes are long but worth the end result. Very good recipes and info on how to do things. Love it!
This is a great book for good Hungarian food like my grandmother used to make....takes some getting used to the format, but once you do it is great because it explains how to do everything....
