PAPER BOTS is one of six really cool paper crafting books by PaperMade™. You simply pop out pre-cut and scored components, fold the paper along the indentations, and insert tabs into slots to create 3D paper engineered toys. The book states that no tape, glue, or tools are needed to complete the projects.Paper Bots contains 20 easy-to-make robots. Each project has its own page that includes a full-color thumbnail image of the assembled robot, the robot’s name, his primary function, a fun factoid like his special feature or secret power, and the pop-out components. The color saturation on all the pieces are excellent — the colors are quite vibrant — and the robots have lots of fun details on their bodies.There are no assembly instructions for how to join the pieces together to make the paper robots. But, much to my pleasant surprise, I found the assembly process quite intuitive and I had no problem putting together the paper robots. After I popped out my pieces, I simply folded along the indentations and then inserted tabs into their corresponding slots. (The book does include a link to website where you can watch tutorial videos for each project.)After assembling a few paper robots, I do agree with the book’s claim that no tape, glue, or tools are needed for assembly. However, if someone is going to actually play with the paper robots (rather than just having them sit on display) then you might want to consider a few tiny dots of glue here and there.TinToy measures nearly 5 inches from the base to the tip top of his antenna.Bunny Bot measures nearly 4.5 inches from base to the tip top of his upright ear.BurgerBot measures 4 inches tall from the base to the top of his head.
