By far the best way to learn about how to identify trees using the systematic approach of taxonomy.Whether you are a beginner or a dendrologist, this book should be on your shelf as a constant source of information.

I am not a tree-cognizant person. I wish I were, but I'm not. So whenever I want to know what kind of tree I'm looking at in the forest, or in the suburbs or in the city, I need to consult a book on trees, and this book is fantastic. I love the way the book is organized, and how easy it is to look up trees by their trunk shape, their leaf structure, and the fruit they bear. I love the way I can learn about a tree's habitat and what tree family it belongs to. Plus there's a bit of history thrown in now and then, and I enjoy it. I am so glad I have this book, I use it a lot, and I highly recommend it to anybody who wants a guide to trees in the eastern US.

this book has a homemade tutorial on youtube on how to use it. i still am a beginer, but shouldnt we know these trees that surround us constantly. im trying to learn them before they are gone.

Good for what it is, but vegetation looks different during the year. Needs better flower-fruit-leaf photos depicting different times of the year.

Good pictures for reference use; decent selection of items listed. Have found it relatively helpful.
