I bought this book to reduce my effort of making equation sheets for the PE exam. While I believe it has a good amount of material in it note the following before you decide to buy:-The book picks and chooses which equations to include from the CERM13, not all equations listed on in this book. There have been some times I have written things in on the side bars because I believe I will need another equation during the exam.-The book uses the equations from the CERM13. This is not usually problematic, however I find that sometimes the derivations of the equations are not explained well enough in the CERM13 (and definitely not in this quick reference guide). For example, the Hazen-William equation in the Water Resources section is derived for a specific common case: full flow in a circular pipe. I'm not a Water Resources person, but all my books from college have the more generic equation which I wrote down in the side notes. I've noticed they've done that with a few sections where I have to go back to my college book to see how they have derived a specific equation so I don't misuse it.-Lastly, there are no charts included in this guide, ie, none of the appendices in the CERM13 are in this book. They do have some of the charts that are listed in the text sprinkled in here and there, but if you are looking for a book with the appendix information only then this is not the book for you.All in all, this book gives me a reason to not have to create an equation sheet, however I feel like I have to really look through the stuff I want to use to make sure it is there. I don't know if I'd pay $60 for it again though, feels more like a $40 book to me. But that's what you get with PPI material....

I didn't really use the book as much as I could have during the exam itself. It tends to be much easier and quicker to use one main reference book for the morning portion than bounce around through multiple books. Having said that, this book does a pretty decent job of summarizing the CERM but leaves some equations out, so if you use this book as your primary reference during the exam I would still bring the CERM as backup. With either book, practice heavily and mark up your reference materials as much as possible to help find information quickly.

I would recommend this book for anyone taking the PE exam as it provides a quicker reference to commonly used equations. Almost like a table of contents for the CERM.

This reference manual is a must-have for any civil engineer planning to take the PE exam I was successful at passing the exam using this book solely as my reference
