SAS Statistics By Example

In SAS Statistics by Example, Ron Cody offers up a cookbook approach for doing statistics with SAS. Structured specifically around the most commonly used statistical tasks or techniques--for example, comparing two means, ANOVA, and regression--this book provides an easy-to-follow, how-to approach to statistical analysis not found in other books. For each statistical task, Cody includes heavily annotated examples using ODS Statistical Graphics procedures such as SGPLOT, SGSCATTER, and SGPANEL that show how SAS can produce the required statistics. Also, you will learn how to test the assumptions for all relevant statistical tests. Major topics featured are correlation, inferential statistics, descriptive statistics, categorical data analysis, simple linear regression, comparing means, multiple regression, logistic regression, non-parametric tests, and power and sample size. This is not a book that teaches statistics. Rather, SAS Statistics by Example is perfect for intermediate to advanced statistical programmers who know their statistics and want to use SAS to do their analyses.

Absolute disappointment. Going by the authors name I expected a better content and presentation. The book claims not to teach statistics. But hardly anything about SAS.At the best it is a collection of specific examples. Now I am back to searching the net or the little sas book. For example when i tried to see the options with proc freq the only option that the examples have is nocum. The book in my opinion does not deserve any stars.I am giving a star because without that I cannot submit my review

Mandatory, must have in collection. This is not too heavy, not too light. Chapters are short and illustrated with clear examples of data, code and output. Comfortable to hold while reading in bed (and it is that sort of reference). You can download the data and try the examples yourself.

It states that it does not teach statistics, but in many ways it does. There are many SAS books out there, but this is one of thee best. Very well written.

This is a great book, containing many examples. Each section is well thought out with examples and statistical graphics where appropriate.

A great way to learn by example. Statistics (application) focused versus programming focused. I downloaded samples of many SAS books onto my Kindle and went with this one.

Cody's books are all to the point and teaches what is necessary in the best way!I definitely learned a lot from this great book!

I really like this book. The examples are clear and easy to understand. I would recommend this book to all beginners.
