This new and expanded edition of an ethnic culinary classic provides a solid and important introduction to a cuisine which all too rarely receives its own book outside of general European cooking. Three new chapters to this edition of Peter Trnka's Best Of Czech Cooking add focus on pork, mushrooms and drinks, while the remainder is filled with Czech basics. No photos, but the recipes are easy enough without them.
This is the best cookbook I could find for the recipes that my Mom used to make.This book is a pretty comprehensive treatment of Czech delights using natural and original ingredients.I've tried other Czech cookbooks, but, this one gives you the directions and instruction needed to handle natural foods and prepare the dishes in a way that provides the real Czech flavors and dishes that I learned to love from my parents.
If you want to eat Czech Food go no further than this book. Excellent,and Brings back memories of my travels to Czech.
I haven't had an opportunity to try but a couple of recipes from this book, however there are a plethora of what appear to be highly authentic dishes. I'm excited about exploring it further. My family name is Czech and I'm trying to recapture some of my family heritage.
This is a recipe book in good shape. I'm researching traditional Czech recipes. This has those with little snip-its of tradition which I appreciate. Nice purchase at a good price. Thank you!
Some good old country recepies. My husband is Czech and the book and its nice to make him a dish he hasn't had in years and years. He also said the finished product is very close to dishes his mother made.
This former college library book was in good condition.It is part of a small collection of Czech and Slavic cookbooks I have gathered to enable me to prepare ethnic foods for my 93 year old mother in law.
