Why are there so many superlative reviews written in such poor English? None of the positive reviewers write as if English is their native language. OK, strange but not impossible. But for being published only 6 weeks ago, it has a lot of reviews, mostly gushing. As of my writing, it has 142 reviews, 61% 5 stars, 36% 4 stars. This is no comment about the book, but something about the reviews, as a whole, seems bogus. I don't understand it.

This is a terrible book. There are numerous misprints. The grammar is poor. Many screenshot examples are missing. There are virtually no explanations of the structure of java. This is an extraordinarily carelessly compiled and disorganized book. You will be very disappointed if you buy this book.

WTF?First, the author is not a native English speaker. After the first few pages, it became somewhat difficult to follow some of his points because of the awkward writing style.Second, assuming this was written with a word processor such as Word, you would think the author would do a spell and grammar check. The fact that this wasn't done suggests the author's word processor default language setting was not English. There is no excuse whatsoever for any Kindle book to have so many grammar and spelling errors.Finally, the title suggests that the scope of topics includes all the major constructs of Java. It does not. It merely includes:- An overview of the history of Java and the Java platform.- Variables- IF / THEN constructs- LOOPS- absolutely the minimum input / output methods.Even if this book was free, it still wouldn't be worth downloading. What a pity doesn't offer zero stars for a book that has zero value.

Do Not buy this book. It has only 6 chapters that only explains if else and Java Variable. Better than buy this book is to read a online tutorial on JAVA. Highly disappointed with book and with positive reviews for this book.

This book is about JavaScript not java! Very dissatisfied. Very disappointed. The title is not correct! Please fix or remove book!

Waste of even the 3.99$ that it cost me.Contains nearly nothing, which can be accessed VERY easily by almost any tutorial in the internet.No reference value, no good tips to take along.I feel cheated.

This book is a useful guide for all programming beginners. It is full of detailed instructions and examples on how to start programming in java. This book shows how easy it is to start java programming. This is a very helpful book for a more thorough understanding on the basics of java programming especially the meanings of each parts. It covers so much helpful information and I was impressed by it. Each hour is a new step and the formats and charts are a great addition, as well as the questions and answers at the end.I really enjoyed reading this book that gives me an overview with java concept. They are explained brilliantly in this book. Also, it’s very well-structured and perfect for reference, which is extremely important in programming. The book has good examples and clear explanations.Recommended this book.

After reading through this book and writing a bit of Java myself to practice, I feel confident in these concepts! It has provided a solid foundation for me to expand my knowledge on. I would say this is more for the more-experienced programmer, with experience in a different programming language.This book was a quick and easy refresher, but also works great if you haven't used Java yet. Very organised book step wise and hour wise. I've been wanting to develop an app and I think this may help me get on the right path! Very minute details are given in the book with examples.I think any layman can learn from it.
