If you love Australian Shepherds, want to learn about Australian Shepherds or want to learn about pedigrees this is THE book. Author Paula McDermid does a fabulous job tracing some of the dogs that have impacted the breed and giving their story from the people who knew them and then in a wonderful twist, she then brings these wonderful dogs forward into present generations with wonderful photos of their progeny.This book is a great tool for anyone interested in getting serious about the Australian Shepherd as it is probably the best compilation available in print with generations of dogs in photos. It is also great for the pet owner to see their dog's family. I will be giving a copy of this book to all of of puppy buyers - I cannot wait for the next book!
Tears of happiness were falling around this house last night as I went through this wonderful book and saw photos of many incomparable Australian Shepherds that I had the privilege to see and even touch many years ago. I have been involved in Australian Shepherds for many years. My late husband and I were a ASCA Hall of fame Kennel, and I am a current senior breeder judge for ASCA. We have so many new people coming into our breed, it's nice for them to be able to see some of the foundation Australian shepherds, where it all started. Great job on this book.
This is one of the best books on some of the foundation of our Australian Shepherd Breed. This breed originated in US the book has great pictures from some of the most influential Aussies from the past!
Having been in Aussies for many, many years, I knew most of the foundation dogs on a personal level. I have spent years studying bloodlines and pedigrees. This book is an absolute MUST for anyone in our breed. It's accurate, has no personal bloodline agenda and truly one of the single most available resources for the Aussie breeder, owner or enthusiast.
