Well. this book was 36$ but includes a link for the downloadable CD (does not come with the CD - just password for it)the book is THIN - 103 pages and most of those are big full pictures of a dog and suchwhile there was useful hints/topics that I appreciated - if you are up to date on positive dog training and have had dog trainers in your house then a lot of this might be review for you - HOWEVER - I think it is important to go through and learn/understand how to use the CD/audio per Dr. Kirkman's instructions- so for that I would actually buy both the book and the CD together -Kirkman gives a couple case examples in the book which I think a lot of people would find useful - most of them include working with your dog - adjusting the owner's behavior (I can't believe how little some people know/understand about dogs or their own dogs) - and emphasizes a very important point throughout: you never ever leave your baby/young child with your dog unattended- EVER- it doesn't matter if Fido is your BFF and a great pet and never hurt anyone before- now there is ONE example where Kirkman recommended euthanizing a very large aggressive dog who the owners had no control over and was biting people - I was alittle appalled that he didn't first suggest rehoming the dog, sending the dog to a rescue or a farm, or even to a shelter (where at least the dog would have a few weeks to possibly find a new owner? as last resort) - I know people were pretty upset about this one case study - and I did have trouble reading it as I would have thought rehoming would have been an option first. However, some of his case studies are with families who were going to EUTH their dogs before even doing anything! (and you should hear some of THOSE situations!
