This is a must read for a dog lover. The story is heartwarming and real,, and the authors voice is strong. Even better is half the proceeds go to the animal shelter. Would recommend buying this one, even though it's short.

I am a dog person, I love dogs and try to help rescue shelter dogs and help them find a forever home, This book is excellent in showing the the true heart of a dog who ends up needing a little help from people. This is deeply insightful and should be required reading for every middle school kid. I hope those who read this book realize there is a way they can help these dogs out of the shelter and into a loving home, They are worth saving, They do have " A LIFE WORTH LIVING"

This short story touches your heart as an animal lover. Told from a shelter dogs point of view, wondering why he doesn't have a family, why he can't be loved. This story will make you pause and think next time you want to bring a puppy from a breeder into your family.

Though this is a very short story (I got this as a Kindle Single) it was not short on substance. I love stories written from the dog's perspective because it serves as a reminder that they, too, have feelings....and are worthy of a good life. Thanks for writing this.

First of all, I work for animal control, and as such, I have a tough exterior and have emotional walls built up to block out sadness in order to be able to perform my job effectively. This book, however, made me cry. I say that NOT to dissuade anyone from reading it, but to emphasize that it was extremely heartfelt and well-written. The main thing that I loved about the book was that the point of view was from the dog. I recommend this book to all animal lovers!!

I am a sap for these animal stories. This is a heartwarming short story about a shelter dog - in his own voice. Having owned shelter dogs (and cats) this guy tugged at my heart strings. Shelter dogs make the best pets because I really think they DO remember and are forever grateful. They can endure all sorts of neglect and abuse - and still have hearts full of forgiveness, loyalty and love.Got my 99 cents worth and then some.Plus half the proceeds go to an animal shelter.

I bought this book because one - i'm a sucker for a dog story and two, because half of the proceeds go to an animal shelter. The story took about 9 minutes to read. I knew it was a short story - but it read like the author was rushing to get it done and up for sale. The characters were not very developed. She says it only took her a few hours to write, and it really shows. I do applaud the author for giving half the proceeds to the animal shelter - but really, it was as if a middle school student wrote this in a one hour english 101 class. Whoever chose the cover picture of the book did a great job. It is actually the best part of the book. If you really want to read a good story told from a dogs perspective - read: One Good Dog. That was an excellent story and the author really got into the dogs head.

A tearjerker for sure -- told in the dog's voice. Another example for what horrible things are done to these faithful companions. And anyone who has a dog and has had to watch them throughout their life, you'll end up crying, which I am doing right now. But beautifully written.
