Excellent book with great details about the Southwest and how to grow the right type of plants. The Southwest is a difficult place to grow any kind of garden. This book gives you tips and the types of plants that will work best for the climate and soil types in the Southwest.

I highly recommend this book for any southwest gardener. It has lots of great ideas, color pictures, and information on desert gardening. It certainly inspires one to put color into the garden both with plants and objects.

Book is lovely, great ideas but I was disappointed. As anew gardener to the Southwest, I need much more detailed info on how, where and when to plant as well as general care and maintenence for trees, shrubs and plants.

I was dissapointed in this book. It has some nice pictures, but not very much descriptive text about ideas for landscaping and how to go about it.

We just moved to Phoenix and needed information about how to care for the plants in our yard, and what other plants would be suitable to plant. This book is very helpful.

If you are planning on doing anything with plants, you need this book. It is the most informative and easy to read gardening book on the market.

I didn't find this very helpful. The best book i have come across for our hot weather area (zone 9), antelope valley, southern california, is the one put out by home depot, 'landscaping 1-2-3'. and it's available on , but check for you applicable zone as it seems one book no longer covers them all.

A pretty good choice for gardening help and for native and adaptable plants for your zone.
