Bought this for practice problems to check my seismic design competency and prepare for SE exam, and not completely satisfied.I felt like the problems were very elementary, not indicative of what I should expect on the SE exam. Each problem seems to test only one concept at a time, does not tie multiuple code requirements and theory together for you to arrive at an answer.If you have never taken a formal course in seismic design(like me) I suspect that this is a good way to ensure you understand the basics of horizontal and lateral force distribution/ code requirements for the equivalent lateral force procedure and wall anchorage. But I stress, the basics only. It will help you prepare primarily for the SE Exam specs section I. Analysis of Structures, but on a basic level. It is severely lacking in questions pertaining to section II Design and Detailing of Structures. If it does seem heavy on any material specific type of question, it does emphasize wood diaphragm and shear wall design/ details the most.Overall, 3 star. It definitely helped me, but I recognize that being able to complete these problems is only a foundation for what I will need to be able to perform come October.
